Ready to do a little Method gobbling -- er, trotting -- for charity? The New School's Third Annual Turkey Trot Run/Walk 5K Event will take place on Saturday, November 17, 2012 at 11 a.m., with proceeds to benefit the Holy Apostles Soup Kitchen on 9th Avenue in New York City.
The event's Check-in location will be the Hudson River Park's Pier 46, with the race starting at 11 a.m. on the paved Greenway path. Registration fees are $10 for students, faculty, staff or alumni; $15 for general public or $20 on race day for everyone. Attendees can also give additional donations on-site at the event, as well. The New School's Turkey Trot will be providing additional encouragement to participants by offering fun prizes for the top three male and female finishers, and the first forty registrants will also receive a commemorative long-sleeved tee shirt. (Too bad they're not giving additional prizes to those who run the race without breaking character...)
Download the Registration Form here -- cash and check will be accepted right up through Race Day, while credit card payments will be accepted for the rest of the day today (Friday, November 16, 2012). Those who have no desire to trot but who still want to give a little to support the Holy Apostles Soup Kitchen can do so via this handy direct link.
Good luck, and here's to easy motivation to help a worthy cause!
