The New York City Center Fall for Dance Festival takes flight for a ten-day period from October 27, through November 6, 2011.
The Festival offers a truly international celebration of dance from a rich variety of companies, styles, and international artists, including some of the top names in the dance world. Performances will include multiple companies in styles ranging hip hop, to ballet, to tap, contemporary, jazz and more.
The Fall for Dance Festival offers a celebration of the diversity and vitality of dance, in New York City, throughout the United States and around the globe. Steven McRae, Principal Dancer of The Royal Ballet, London, and Pontus Lidberg Dance, based in Sweden and New York, will make their U.S. debuts at the 2011 event. Meanwhile, other international companies and artists to appear will include:The Australian Ballet, CCN de Créteil et du Val-de-Marne / Compagnie Käfig (from France), Lizt Alfonso Dance Cuba, The United Kingdom's Richard Alston Dance Company, The Royal Ballet of Flanders (Belgium), TAO Dance Theater from China, and Vertigo Dance Company from Israel.
American companies and performers will include: Maurice Chestnut, Lil Buck, Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, The Joffrey Ballet, and from The Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, Drew Jacoby, Jessica Lang Dance, the Liz Gerring Dance Company, the Mark Morris Dance Group, The New York City Ballet and the Trisha Brown Dance Company.
